2024 Annual Campaign closes: Incredible community effort raises $130,470 for Tracadie Hospital!

Tracadie, March 27, 2025 – The Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie officially closed its 2024 annual campaign today at a special event held at the Tracadie Hospital. The event brought together donors, partners, hospital staff and community representatives to celebrate the outstanding results achieved thanks to an outpouring of support.

A goal surpassed thanks to incredible community effort

André Morais, Chair of the 2024 Annual Campaign, proudly announced that the initial goal of $95,000 had been surpassed, reaching the incredible sum of $130,470. “This success illustrates our community’s exceptional commitment to the health and well-being of citizens, here at home first. Every dollar raised will have a direct impact on improving the care and services offered at the Tracadie Hospital,” he said.

Practical acquisitions for a better-equipped hospital

The funds raised have been used to finance essential medical equipment. In medical imaging and the emergency department, modern equipment ensures fast, efficient care. In physiotherapy and occupational therapy, we promote rehabilitation and autonomy with specialized tools. Our care units also benefit from equipment offering greater comfort and safety for patients with reduced mobility.

“With the surplus, we can go even further in improving the care and infrastructures of our hospital. These additional funds will enable us, for example, to acquire additional equipment in the areas mentioned during this campaign, as well as provide flexibility for other hospital service priorities,“ said Mr. Clifford Robichaud, Chair of the Foundation.

For her part, Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO of Vitalité Health Network said, “The partnership between the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie and Vitalité Health Network reflects our shared vision of a healthy community.” Together, we’re investing in a future where every patient benefits from top-quality care, in a healthy environment adapted to their needs.

Remarkable support from the Auxiliaires bénévoles de Tracadie-Sheila

A highlight of the event was also the announcement of a significant commitment from the Auxiliaires bénévoles de Tracadie-Sheila, who confirmed a donation of $50,000, or $10,000 per year for five years, dedicated to the Foundation’s Endowment Fund. This remarkable gesture testifies to their enduring commitment to improving care in their community.

“Our group is proud to take concrete action to ensure the long-term future of our hospital. We firmly believe in the importance of supporting projects that will benefit the entire population,” said Elsie Godin, Chairperson of the Auxiliaires bénévoles de l’Hôpital de Tracadie-Sheila.

An incredible donation from the Coopérative Régionale de la Baie Ltée (Tracadie IGA)

The event was also highlighted by the announcement of a major donation of $230,000 from Coopérative régionale de la Baie Ltée (Tracadie), which will enable investment in several essential projects at the Tracadie Hospital.

At the heart of this commitment is the development of $160,000 terrace; this space will give patients, visitors and staff an outdoor environment ideal for relaxation and well-being.

“This partnership is a major step forward for our hospital and our community. Thanks to the CO-OP and all our donors, we can offer spaces and equipment that enhance the quality of care provided here at home first,” said Clifford Robichaud, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie.

Mario Cormier, General Manager of Coop IGA Tracadie added, “Partnering with the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie means investing directly in the health and well-being of our community. Thanks to initiatives such as the Loto Coop santé, we are proud to be able to contribute $230,000 towards major projects, including the highlight project: the creation of a terrace for patients and their families. This space will provide a place of respite and well-being, promoting a human and comforting approach to care. This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to patients, their families and the general public. Every gesture counts, and it’s thanks to the generosity and solidarity of our members and the commitment of our employees that we can make a real difference.”

Launch of the 2025 Annual Campaign

Building on this success, the Foundation announced the launch of the 2025 Annual Campaign, with a target of $90,000 for the acquisition of essential new equipment.

One of the first donors to get involved is the Tracadie Fire Department, which has selected the Foundation as the organization to support this year. The fire department has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to our cause. “Our firefighters don’t just protect our community; they are actively engaged in improving health services. We are infinitely grateful to them,” said André Morais.
