Let’s keep going, for health here at home first! 2024-2025 Report Presented at the Annual General Meeting

Tracadie, January 6, 2026 – The Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie held its 2024- 2025 Annual General Meeting in December, marking an exceptional year of generosity, solidarity and tangible achievements for the benefit of our hospital and the people of our region.

Thanks to the community’s remarkable move to action, the Foundation surpassed the objectives of its 2024 Annual Campaign, raising $130,470, well above the goal of $95,000. This success is the result of a great collective effort, led by André Morais, campaign chair, with the support of a dedicated committee, donors, volunteers and hospital staff.

The funds raised have made it possible to purchase essential equipment to improve the quality of care provided to clients, including:
• an Umano bed with therapeutic mattress for the medical unit
• an auto BiPAP machine for the respiratory therapy department
• a multifunctional treatment table for the wound care clinic
• an EZ Turn Disc to facilitate safe patient transfers

In addition to these investments, a significant proportion of the contributions were put into the endowment fund, ensuring the sustainability of the Foundation’s actions and the continuity of care in the community.

Major gifts that make a difference

The Foundation gratefully acknowledges two remarkable philanthropic gestures:

• a commitment of $50,000 over five years to the endowment fund from the Auxiliaires bénévoles de Tracadie-Sheila
• an incredible donation of $230,000 from the Coopérative Régionale de la Baie Ltée (IGA de Tracadie) through the Loto Coop Santé communautaire, to improve patient care

These contributions demonstrate the vitality of the community partnership and the desire to build a compassionate, accessible and quality care environment right here at home.

A team committed to a promising future

Chaired by Clifford Robichaud, the Foundation continued to implement its strategic plan focused on sustainability and innovation, while strengthening its local partnerships. The board of directors and the professional team have worked with dedication to support the excellence and development of health care in the region.

The impact of your support

Thanks to the generosity of its donors over the past year, the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie invested: $22,185 (42%) in patient care, including diagnosis, treatment and follow-up; $11,479 (22%) in sectors related to diagnosis, treatment and follow-up; $10,000 (19%) in specialized regional services and the fight against cancer; and $9,634 (18%) in professional development and training.

The elected members of the Board of Directors for the coming year are: Clifford Robichaud, chair, Lison Guignard, vice-chair, Monia Mallet, treasurer, Jacinthe LeClerc, secretary, Sonia Bernatchez, ex-officio member, Julien Haché, Félicien Arseneau, Audrey MurphyThibodeau, JoDee Basque, Melanie Noël and Brigitte Mazerolle.

About the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie

Since its creation, the Foundation has actively supported the improvement of health care and services for the people of the greater Tracadie-Sheila area. By organizing events such as the Roses Radiothon, Walk 1 km in My Shoes and the Northern Star, the Foundation continues to move the community to action around a vital cause: health, here, for us all.
